How to try on clothes online

Updated · By WEARFITS

What you need

Trying clothes on online used to mean squinting at a model who looks nothing like you. With wearfits.me the model is you. You need three things:

  • One selfie. Your face, in soft daylight, facing the camera.
  • Your height and weight (in cm and kg) — and, optionally, a full-body photo: head to feet, standing, plain background, for more accuracy.
  • A product link. The address of a product page in almost any online shop.

That’s all. No app to install, no measuring tape, no 3D scan. wearfits.me is for adults: only upload photos of yourself, and only if you are 18 or older.

Step by step

  1. Add your selfie

Open wearfits.me and add one clear selfie. JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 8 MB.

  2. Add height and weight — and, optionally, a full-body photo

Enter your height in cm and your weight in kg. To raise accuracy, you can also add a full-body photo; it does not replace them. Consent is required each time you create or retake your digital model. You can request deletion later in Account; media deletion is queued and retried. External image-generation providers do not retain your photos. Our WEARFITS GenAI API caches generated models with 30-day validity. Deleting app data does not clear this cache; physical cleanup may occur later.

  3. Paste a product link

Copy the address of the product page and paste it in. We fetch the product photos and read the name, price and type of piece. Nothing to write. If a shop blocks us, upload the product photo instead.

  4. Get your studio shot

Typically, in up to 20 seconds you see a full-body studio shot of you wearing the piece — the same clean light every time, like the model on the product page. One piece uses one try-on.

  5. Mix shops into one look

Combine a top from one shop, jeans from another and shoes from a third, and get the whole outfit on you in one shot. One look also uses one try-on.

  6. Save your looks

Your shots and looks are saved in your gallery, visible only to you, with links back to each shop. Save products in one shopping list across shops, and buy at each shop when you’re ready.

Tips for a good selfie

  • Soft daylight, facing the camera. A window in front of you beats a lamp above you.
  • No hats, sunglasses or filters. Beauty filters change your face; the shot should look like you.
  • Neutral expression, face fully in frame. Hair away from the eyes helps.
  • Full-body photo? Stand straight, arms relaxed, head to feet in frame, in fitted clothes against a plain background — so your build reads clearly.
  • Be honest about height and weight. The shot is built from what you enter; your current weight, not your goal weight, gives the most useful preview.

What a preview can and can’t tell you

A studio shot answers the question a product page can’t: how does this look on me? You see colour against your skin, length on your frame, and how a piece works with the rest of a look.

It is a visual preview, not a size guarantee. It does not measure the garment or promise that a size will fit. For that:

Stretch, fabric weight and the exact cut of a garment can differ from what a photo suggests. Use the shot to decide what you like, and the size chart to decide which size to order.

FAQ

Do I need a full-body photo to try on clothes online?
No. One selfie plus your height and weight is enough. A full-body photo is optional: it raises accuracy but does not replace height and weight.
How long does a try-on take?
Typically up to 20 seconds per try-on, once your digital model and product are ready. Creating your digital model takes about 30 seconds.
Which shops work?
Product links from many online shops work, but we can’t guarantee every shop. If a shop blocks link reading, upload the product photo instead.
Will the shot tell me which size to buy?
No. It is a visual preview of how the piece looks on you, not a size guarantee. Check the brand’s size chart — the clothing size converter helps you compare brands.
Can I try on a whole outfit?
Yes. Combine pieces from several shops into one look and get the whole outfit on you in one shot. A look uses one try-on.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored in the EU and visible only to you; image generation may take place outside the EU. We never use them to train AI or sell or share them with shops. Deletion is queued and retried. External image-generation providers do not retain your photos. Our WEARFITS GenAI API caches generated models with 30-day validity. Deleting app data does not clear this cache; physical cleanup may occur later.
