Step-by-step guide

How to try on clothes online with AI

You don't need a fitting room or a measuring tape. With generative-AI try-on you add one photo — or just your height and size — and see a photorealistic preview of the garment on your own body. Here's the whole flow in five steps.

Generative-AI virtual try-on runs in your browser. It reads your pose, body shape, and proportions automatically, then renders the selected item on you — including how the fabric drapes and how its texture, color, and shadows look on your figure. The goal is simple: answer "does this fit me, and how do I look in it?" before you check out.

  1. 1

Open the try-on and pick a garment

On a product page or the demo, launch virtual try-on and choose what you want to preview — a top, shirt, jacket or coat; pants or a skirt; a dress or jumpsuit; or shoes. You can preview a single item or build toward a full look.

  2. 2

Add a photo, or enter your height and size

Upload one clear, front-facing photo of yourself in good light, or just enter your height and size to start. The AI handles pose and body detection on its own — no special equipment, scans, or 3D capture required.

  3. 3

    Generate the preview

The AI generates a photorealistic image of you wearing the garment, usually within seconds. It renders the fabric drape, texture, color, and shadows so the result looks like a real photo rather than a flat overlay.

  4. 4

    Judge fit, style, and look

Look at how the item sits on you: length, proportion, how it drapes across the shoulders or hips, and whether the color and silhouette suit you. Not sure on size? Try a different size to compare. (See Does it fit me? for how to read fit.)

  5. 5

    Mix and match, then decide

Combine a top and bottom, or swap in shoes, to preview a complete outfit instead of a single piece. Once you can see the look works on your body, you can buy with much more confidence. Our style guide has tips on what to test.

Tips for the best try-on result

  • Use a recent, front-facing photo with even lighting and a plain background.
  • Stand in a natural, relaxed pose so proportions read accurately.
  • Wear fitted clothing in the photo so the AI reads your shape, not bulky layers.
  • Try at least two sizes when you're between sizes, then compare side by side.
  • Preview the full outfit, not just one piece, to see how proportions balance.
